Nysy - not your standard yoga

Never enough yoga

Nysy - not your standard yoga
two worklabs with Varun Jan & Feb 2026

Since about a year I’ve been trying to learn some yoga. It turns out there is a lot to learn. Not the least that much yoga that is taught in Western countries is derived from a style of yoga that originated within the ruling castes and classes of India.

But those are not the only groups that developed yogic practices. And while there are of course similiarities there are also major differences. It seems how yoga is taught, is one of them. And yogic practices of “lower” classes seem to stress less specific postures and instead focus more on concrete perceptions in the individual bodies.

Last year I praticipated in a worklab by Varun who’s teaching style is more akin to this “lower class yoga” and was suprised to find myself almost able to develop my own practice just from this one workshop. Now I only need the discipline to include such a practice in my daily life.

In any case, for those of you interested, here are three opportunities to learn about this type of yoga and I’m participating in all of them.

flow - a worklab with varun

Flow worklab
Flow worklab with Varun Feb 2026

a residential worklab at Götzer Berge Soup together on 6th February 2026 in the evening around 06:30 p.m.
Practices on 7th February 2026 and 8th February 2026

We could arrive at the timings for the practices together based on participants’ needs, concerns and requests. The last practice of the worklab would pause around 1:00 p.m. on 8th February 2026, followed by lunch together.

Flow is the thread of time. There is flow in how we work, how we think, how we act. Our organs function in flow with each other. Our breath flows into the the energy that sustains our daily life. Our habits are in flow. We are sustained by the flowing matrix of so many complex inner and outer processes.

Flow is sustenance.
To sustain is not just to retain the old, but to transform as the world and its happenings transform around us. To flow is to discover and rediscover again and again what it means to repeat the act of living, breathing, acting, working with a steadfastness that only repetition can help us encounter.

This worklab attempts to introduce practices that are sustainable through repetition for the body, breath, voice and inner nourishment. We shall try and together re-member, re-realize what it might mean to sustain individual somatic practices for long spells. Sense what happens when practices approach a lasting timelessness.

Food and accomodation in own tent or in a jurte per day: 25 €
